Barbara Norris was transplanted from Switzerland to the American Southwest as a child. Ever since, she has been fascinated with its arid beauty and the tough-minded people who populate it. Her short stories are an attempt to explain this mysterious, magical place to herself. “Milky Way Over Jack’s Cabin” appeared in the Spring 2013 Pony Express(ions), A literary journal of the Master of Liberal Studies Program at Southern Methodist University. “Waiting for Paul McCartney on the Curb of the New Frontier” appeared in EDGE Literary Journal, volume 8. More short fiction and essays appear on Barbara's blog at barbaranorris.wordpress.com.
Barbara comments: "It's great to see a publication focused on the Southwest. They are few and far between. I look forward to reading fellow writers with a sense of our place on the map."
